The Story Behind the Rockpool Lampshade
There’s something endlessly captivating about a rockpool. As a child, I’d spend hours crouched by the edge of the sea, poking through seaweed, watching tiny crabs scuttle, and imagining the lives of small orange fish darting between the shadows. This design is a love letter to those quiet moments of seaside wonder.
Inspired by Tidal Treasures
The Rockpool Lampshade began with memories of childhood holidays to the British coast — windblown hair, salt-dusted chips, and that thrill of spotting a starfish or crab hidden in the shallows. The colours came first: a soft wash of golden yellow and gentle blue, capturing the light of a shallow tide pool under the summer sun.

Drawing the Underwater World
Back in my studio, I sketched seaweed curling like ribbons and clusters of barnacles clinging to rock. I added playful orange fish, secretive crabs, and calm, sandy shallows — all brought together with my signature soft textures and a quiet sense of story.
Each lampshade is hand-printed onto organic cotton, then carefully constructed by me.
