Spotted on Screen: My Bee Lampshade in Netflix’s Lucifer

It’s not every day you get an email from a TV crew — but a while ago, a member of the production team for Netflix’s Lucifer reached out to ask if they could feature one of my handmade lampshades in the show. They didn’t tell me exactly where it would appear or in which episode, just that they loved the design and wanted permission to use it.
As a fan of Lucifer myself, I was thrilled (and more than a little curious).
When the Season 4 finally dropped, I excitedly sat down to watch — and there it was, right in the first episode!
Without giving away too many spoilers: there's a scene involving a character who is a beekeeper. My bee lampshade appears in their home, just behind Detective Decker as she walks through the scene. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but I couldn’t stop smiling.
Why the Bee Lampshade Means So Much
This lampshade is actually one of my earliest designs. I wanted something bold, graphic and cheerful — something that would bring a burst of golden warmth into a room. The honeycomb pattern and gentle bees give it a playful character while still being quite modern. It's always been popular, especially in nature-themed homes or woodland nurseries.
Seeing it on screen, even just for a second, was such a lovely surprise. I often wonder what happened to that lampshade after filming — maybe it went home with a crew member? Or maybe it’s tucked away in a props room, waiting for its next big break.
Handmade with Heart
All of my lampshades are handmade in my small UK studio, printed on certified organic cotton, and inspired by nature, folklore, and the magic of quiet moments. This feature on Lucifer might have been brief, but it was a wonderful reminder that handmade things can travel far — even all the way to Hollywood sets!
